Walking around my home town,
It only ever made me frown,
But now I see what is to be found,
When I walk up, down and all around,
The things I see leave me inspired,
Bowling alleys and cinemas aren’t required,
The beauty of buildings is all I need,
What about Cromwell, is he there? Indeed,
Standing tall, as a statue,
Looking down at you,
Palazzo Vecchio inspired the clock tower,
That looms over this city of power,
But the power has faded,
Wool is no longer traded,
Other industries will come,
For a new dawn has begun,
A rise back to glory,
A new chapter in the city’s story,
For in the digital age,
This once great city will stage,
A rise from the ashes that shall be rivalled by none.
My Home Town
