Eater of Fog

It stands in darkness,
The Eater of Fog,
Fearing sunlight,
In a cave near a bog,
Hiding away, never to be seen,
But you don’t care,
Without me you wouldn’t even know,
That the Fog Eater was even there,
Helping us by clearing the mist,
It spends its time sucking it in,
Endangering itself in order to help,
One day to die like the rest of its kin,
Eating smoke and mist and fog,
You should be grateful for all it has done,
The Fog Eater that never gets thanked,
Because of it you can bask in the sun.
