Immortal Last Words

While Ghengis, Kahn of the Mongols told his son
“It is clear to me that I must leave everything and go hence from thee.”

Jacques De Molay cried from the fire
“Let evil swiftly befall those who have wrongly condemned us – God will avenge us.”
But Lorenzo De Medici, when asked if he enjoyed his food replied
“As a dying man always does.”

The Danish nobleman, astronamer and alchemist Tycho Brahe spoke to Kepler
“Let me not seem to have lived in vain.”
Louis XIV, King of France spoke to his successor
“I am going away but the state will always remain.”

“To the strongest.” Said Alexander the Great.
“Traitor was I never” Asserted William Wallace before they put him in hell.
Beethoven’s words were “pity, pity – too late.”

In the end Hitler wrote “I myself and my wife – in order to escape the disgrace of deposition and capitulation choose death.”

Of these two, the victor was the latter.
