Guy Fawkes Night/Bonfire Night

Bright lights flying through the sky,

Up we stare as they burst so high,

The rockets explode in amazing hues,

From red to yellow to dazzling blues,

Then the sparklers in freezing cold hands,

Twirling in circles as the onlooker stands,

The whistles, screeches and booming blasts,

A tribute to a bloody past,

The fires burn on, right through the night,

The effigies burn until morning light,

And as the dust settles and the fun does end,

A message to the future we happily send,

Always remember no matter what,

Guy Fawkes, gunpowder, treason and plot.
